Q&A

Do you take insurance?

Most of our clinicians are in-network providers with Cigna and Aetna, United Health Care, Oxford, Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Oscar, Medicare. We will advise you of the clinician’s insurance standing and availability before moving forward with confirming.

I dont have any of the insurances mentioned- can I still see you?

We are out-of-network providers with other insurance companies, however, it may still be possible for your services to be partially covered.

For help in verifying your in-network or out-of-network coverage, please complete our Insurance Verification Form.

I would rather call my insurance company myself- what do I ask?

If you plan on using your out of network reimbursement benefits, we recommend that you contact your health insurance provider and ask the following questions:

  1. Do I have out-of-network coverage?

  2. Does my out-of-network health insurance plan include mental health benefits?

  3. What dollar amount or percentage of each psychotherapy session is reimbursed or covered? These codes may help you:

    • Initial/First Intake Appointment: CPT Code 90791

    • Ongoing Weekly Appointments: CPT Code 90837 or CPT Code 90834

  4. How many outpatient mental health or psychotherapy sessions per calendar year are covered by my health plan?

  5. Do I need a pre-approval, pre-authorization, or referral from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

Kindly note that we have no control over what your individual insurance plan dictates, and your coverage may change at any time without our knowledge.

How much does someone usually end up paying out of pocket to see an out-of-network provider?

Typically, after your deductible is met, 70% of the cost is reimbursed by your insurer. Reimbursement percentage varies depending on your provider. Please contact your provider to find out what percentage your insurance company will reimburse you for.

Is the process of getting partial reimbursement from my insurance provider difficult?

No, it’s very simple. You can contact your provider and just fax over the invoice that we provide.

Why is it a good idea to consider ALL psychotherapists available to you, not just those that are “in network” with your insurance?

When you consider out of network psychotherapist, you are likely to get someone who is well-trained and spends a lot of time getting extra education in their area of specialty. You’re also going to get a therapist who is less burdened with a heavy workload and therefore more able to focus on your specific situation.

Will your office help prepare any necessary documentation I’ll need for reimbursement?

Yes.

Why is it important to invest your mental health?

There's no greater investment than your own peace of mind and mental health.
